how a project runs
From first call to handover
What happens, in order, when you ask for a quote. No surprises on either side.
the order of work
Six steps, every time
Small repairs move through them in days; a renovation spends longer on each. The order stays the same.
Start with step oneYou get in touch
Use the quote form or call. Say what you'd like done, where, and roughly when.
Site visit and measure
We come and look, measure up, and ask the questions that change the price: what's behind the wall, what stays and what goes.
Written quote
You get a written scope and price that lists what is included and what isn't, so you can compare it fairly.
Agreeing the plan
Start date, working hours, access and how changes are handled are settled before work begins.
The work
Work goes ahead in the planned order. If something unexpected turns up, you hear about it, and nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Walkthrough and handover
We go round the finished job together and put right anything that isn't, before the final sign-off.
worth agreeing before day one
Questions to settle up front
A renovation goes smoothly when these are clear from the start. They're covered at step four.
- Hours
- When work starts and finishes each day, and whether weekends are in.
- Access
- Keys, parking, and which door the work goes through.
- Living in
- Which rooms stay usable, and when water or power will be off.
- Materials
- Who supplies tiles, fittings and appliances, and where they're kept.
- Changes
- How a change of mind is priced and agreed in writing.

questions
Frequently asked
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. Repairs and one-day jobs are part of the work, not a favour. Tell us what it is, and whether there's anything else you've been meaning to get done at the same time.
How does pricing work?
After the site visit you get a written quote for the agreed scope. If something changes along the way, the change is priced and agreed with you before it's done.
Can I stay in the house during a renovation?
Usually, yes. We agree which rooms stay usable, and the noisy or dusty stages are planned so you know when to expect them.
Do I need a permit or drawings?
It depends on the job and where you live. Structural work and extensions often do. It's raised at the site visit, and you'll know what's needed before any work starts.
Who buys the materials?
Either way works. We can supply everything, or fit the tiles, fixtures and appliances you've chosen. The quote says which.
How soon can you start?
That depends on the size of the job and the schedule at the time. Ask when you request a quote and you'll get an honest date.
