What we build and repair

From a single room to an extension, here is what each kind of job covers. If yours isn't listed, ask anyway: most building work in and around a house can be quoted.

Kitchen renovations

A kitchen is plumbing, electrics, carpentry and tiling in one small room, done in the right order. The sequence is planned with you so you're without a working kitchen for as short a time as possible.

  • Strip-out and removal of the old kitchen
  • Wall changes, new openings and making good
  • Cabinet, worktop and appliance fitting
  • Splashback and floor tiling
  • Plumbing and electrical points planned in, with the right qualified trades

Bathroom renovations

Most bathroom problems start behind the tiles. A renovation here means getting the waterproofing and the falls right first, then making it look good.

  • Full strip-out down to the frame or slab
  • Waterproofing of wet areas before any tile goes on
  • Wall and floor tiling, with the floor falling to the drain
  • Shower screens, vanities, toilets and tapware fitted
  • Ventilation so the room dries out properly

Extensions & structural work

Adding space, or opening up the space you have. Structural changes are drawn up and, where required, approved before any wall is touched.

  • Removing or moving internal walls, with beams where needed
  • New door and window openings
  • Footings, framing and roofing for extensions
  • Turning garages, attics and basements into rooms
  • Working from an engineer's or architect's drawings when the job calls for them

Carpentry & joinery

Timber work that's measured on site and fitted to the room you have, not the room on the plan.

  • Internal doors, frames and hardware
  • Skirting, architraves and trim
  • Built-in wardrobes, shelving and window seats
  • Stair repairs and new balustrades
  • Decks, pergolas and outdoor timber work

Floors, walls and repairs

Flooring & tiling

Timber, engineered boards, laminate and tile. The subfloor is levelled and prepared first, because every floor shows what it's laid on.

Plaster, drywall & finishing

New partition walls and ceilings, patching and skimming, ready for paint. Or painted too, if you'd like the room handed back finished.

Repairs & maintenance

Water damage, cracks, sticking doors and windows, loose tiles. Small jobs are welcome, and often cheaper to fix now than later.

Not sure what your job counts as?

Plenty of projects are a bit of everything: a bathroom that needs a wall moved, a floor that needs the joists checked first. Describe what you'd like to end up with, and the rest gets worked out at the site visit.
